This winter holiday season you can drink all the eggnog and champagne you want and still drive home safely, sort of. The way it works is that after people get smashed at a party instead of driving their cars home, they or their friends call the organization. . Drivers who are even mildly drunk or just tired can call the Nez Rouge (red nose) association that will drive both them and their vehicle home. A team of Nez Rouge volunteers comes to pick up the person and his car. The organization does not sermon its passenger about their drinking but instead safely deliver the person and his car to his home. Last year in March, the federal government cut the association’s subsidy by 150,000 francs and Nez Rouge was worried about not having enough cash to function. Fortunately, the group has temporarily found sponsor and will kick off operations on Friday, December 15th. The expects group to service some 8000 merry-makers this holiday season. The association’s toll free number is: 0800.802.208.
