The traditional La Bâtie festival takes place in Geneva till September 15th and involves more than 20 venues around the city. The programme is truly varied, with lots of contemporary dance, visual arts, installations and other shows performed all around the city. About 40,000 visitors come to visit the festival’s shows – and there are approximately 200 of them available! Initially the festival was organised at the La Bâtie Forest, but as its popularity grew, La Bâtie had to change its location. Still, the quality of performances is no less high than it used to be. As usually, there are professional artists performing along with emerging ones. Another pleasant thing about La Bâtie is that there are bars opened in old theatres and industrial hangars. The bars are filled with special atmosphere, which makes them very popular with local people.
