July is a perfect time to visit Geneva, since the city, like the whole country, is famous for its beautiful flowers. Geneva’s place to visit is its Jardin Anglais (English Garden), which was created in 1854 and contains such attractions as the Monument National (built to commemorate Geneva's annexation to Switzerland) and of course its beautiful Horloge Fleurie – clock consisting of flowers. The clock contains 6000 flowers and was founded in 1955 to celebrate the city’s watchmaking industry. It is five metres in diameter and 17.7m in circumference. In summer, you can visit this garden and see its beautiful roses in bloom. Moreover, there is a varied concert programme offered which is a good supplement to your summer walks.
