“Field(s) - From Solferino to Guantanamo” is an exhibition at the Musee International de la Croix-Rouge at du Croissant-Rouge (organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross) which tells the story of despair and misery, but at the same time the story of hope, comfort and human kindness. In order to organize the exhibition, the ICRC has look though its archives consisting of about 110,000 photos which cover its story from 1859 to modern times. But it was impossible to display all of them, so they chose 88 best. The visitor can discover the main ICRC fields of action, such as help for the wounded, support and protection for the war prisoners, help in searching for relatives and civilian help. This is a vivid picture of two oppositions: cruelty and humanity, truth and invention. The exhibition is available till July 29th, 2007.
