October 15 Swiss charity foundation Terre des Hommes organizes another annual walk for charity, called Walk of Hope (Marche de l'Espoir), which is a peaceful demonstration and a fund-raising event at the same time. This sponsored walk is aimed to support development projects in Brasil and therefore, is also called “Marche pour le Brazil”. The walk will start at 08:00 at the Quai du Mont Blanc, then will be proceeded on to the Leman lakefront, past some of the Geneva most popular sites, such as Maison Henry Dunant, Musee d’histoire des Sciences, La Perle du Lac and Jardin Botanique and will end at 15 pm. At each kilometer, participants are asked to find a donor to sponsor him money for every kilometer walked. Annually, the event attracts about 6000 participants and is very popular among athletes. Probably, the reason for this success is that every participant can choose a distance for himself.
