Hotels have been full and are expecting more business during the ski vacations of February and March. Swiss mountain resorts say that they are very happy with how this winter’s season is coming along. In the canton of Serge Beslin, Vaud, director of Villars-sur-Ollon’s tourism office, claims that his town has been experiencing one of its best seasons of the last decade. In the canton of Valais, officials are just as upbeat: R. Granger, from Chablais Tourism, explains that visitors tended to stay home for Christmas, but that since December 27th, the Portes-du-Soleil resort has been about 95% full. In the Bernese Alps, the resort towns of Grindelwald, Gstaad, Wengen and Adelboden claim that they were almost saturated on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
